Regulating and enforcing workplace laws

In their first 12 months, WIV has helped hundreds of thousands of Victorians recoup monies that have been owed to them.

Wage Inspectorate Victoria was formed as a statutory agency responsible for enforcing Victoria’s stand alone wage theft laws and oversee child employment, long service leave, and owner-drivers laws. Their role is to educate the community about the function of these laws and also take enforcement action where appropriate, which sometimes includes legal action.

Objective worked with WIV from inception of the agency. They needed technology to bring together data related to all parts of performing their function: phone calls, enquiries, investigations and legal work, all in one place. WIV needed a technology partner who understood the importance of their legislative deadlines and their core legislative responsibility.

Staff find Objective RegWorks intuitive and easy to use, it’s easy to link matters and see patterns emerging in the types of calls and enquiries they receive which helps focus their resources in the right place, and ultimately be a more intelligent regulator.

The outcomes have been fantastic. In their first 12 months of operation, WIV have helped hundreds of thousands of Victorians recoup monies that have been owed to them. They’ve had hundreds of thousands of people visit their website, use their tools, make reports to WIV. They’ve investigated hundreds of matters and progressed some through to court.

Objective RegWorks
provides WIV with a joined up view of their business, so they can continue to deliver these important results to Victorians.

We’ve had hundreds of thousands of people visit our website, use our tools, make reports to us. We’ve investigated hundreds of matters and we’ve progressed matters through to court. Objective RegWorks helps us keep delivering these fantastic results for Victorians.
