Return to Work South Australia selects RegWorks for digital transformation

RTWSA went to market for a new single regulatory system solution in order to strengthen their regulation function.

September 2020

Itree (now Objective) are thrilled to announce the commencement of a 10 year engagement with Return to Work South Australia (RTWSA) for their Regulatory System Solution based on the RegWorks platform including LicenceWorks, DecisionWorks, InspectorWorks and ResponseWorks.

RTWSA went to market for a new single regulatory system solution in order to strengthen their regulation function. Looking to reduce fragmented data and systems, improve reporting capabilities, provide intuitive search and to obtain a holistic 360-degree view of all interactions with key stakeholders and improve relationships. When compared against other leading SaaS products, the RegWorks end-to-end solution was the right fit.

Julia Oakley, Executive General Manager at ReturnToWorkSA, said: 'We chose Itree after undertaking a comprehensive market scan considering over 30 products, followed by a formal procurement process. RegWorks appealed to us because of its highly configurable nature, and the fact that it is specifically tailored to supporting the full suite of regulatory, enforcement, compliance, and education functions. Working with Itree has been easy and straightforward to date, and we look forward to working closely with them to implement RegWorks to support great outcomes for our employees and our clients – SA employers, injured workers, and service providers.'

RTWSA will digitally transform onto a sophisticated, yet easy-to-use solution that will unify processes and data across the organisation and will automate highly manual tasks that previously relied heavily on the effort and knowledge of staff involved. With RegWorks mobile, RTWSA staff will be digitally enabled in the field, supporting compliance and education activities in a highly productive manner. The outcome for RTWSA will be improved access to business intelligence for better decision making, increased productivity, well informed workers and employers, and overall increased effectiveness as a trusted, best practice regulator.

The selection process for a new regulatory solution continued throughout COVID disruptions and both teams adapted to remote sales meetings with members joining from multiple locations.

RTWSA is responsible for regulating the South Australian Return to Work scheme and providing insurance that protects South Australian businesses and their workers in the event of a work injury. RTWSA is responsible for undertaking workplace activities, education and applying sanctions where provided for and appropriate, to ensure those obligations are met. This includes:

  • worksite inspections and audits by Regulatory Officers
  • industry-specific education programs
  • self-insured evaluations
  • imposition of supplementary payments, fines and/or interest penalties
  • prosecutions

Itree are a uniquely Australian RegTech solution provider with over 24 years of experience working with government agencies and are delighted to have been successful with our proven end-to-end solution, RegWorks.

'We are excited about this long-term partnership with RTWSA' said Ben Hobby, CEO, Itree. 'Itree have extensive experience across the Work Health & Safety domain within Australian government and are pleased to be able to extend this knowledge to assist RTWSA. We are already working closely together towards the implementation commencing in October 2020.'
