Exploring technology adoption in UK regulation

Have you ever wondered why some regulatory agencies have successfully embraced technology, while others still struggle with adoption? The reality is that many regulators are aware of the potential benefits of technology, but the barriers to implementation are slowing down progress.

Recently, Objective Corporation conducted a first-of-its-kind survey and research on the use of technology in government regulation. The results showed that UK regulators have the opportunity to take advantage of technological advancements, but are facing challenges in doing so.

While some regulators are embracing advanced risk-based, data-driven approaches, others are encountering limitations in IT capacity and funding that prevent them from taking advantage of available technology solutions. In fact, the research findings highlight six key insights into the current landscape of UK government regulation and RegTech adoption.

Objective is hosting a free online forum, bringing together leading regulators and industry experts to discuss such insights in greater detail.

The research highlighted that there is limited public information about how UK regulators are using RegTech and so it is hard to understand what market offerings can assist those considering implementing various digital solutions. Building stronger networks across regulators in different domains could improve RegTech adoption in the UK.
