Position Overview

The Objective Senior Project Manager is responsible for successful delivery of large-scale ($1m to $10m), complex and multiple projects including advanced risk assessment, change management, and performance and control measures.  The role will require strong commercial, principal consulting and business development skills to convert opportunities to approved projects.  Equally important is a pragmatic approach and strong people management focus. The Senior Project Manager reports to the Practice Leader.

Responsibilities

  • Project oversight and delivery. Responsible for delivery of projects approx $1m to $10m in accordance to the Objective Project Management Methodology and project governance of smaller projects.  Implement strong project controls and implementation disciplines to ensure project risk is minimized and successful project delivery.
  • The senior project manager assumes responsibilities over large-scale and multiple projects, leading multi-functional teams, actively collaborating with business development, and providing strategic direction across all project initiatives.  Engage in all projects at Steering Committee level.
  • Contribution to Sales. Contribute to growth of the Practice through working with Sales in response to tenders, including presales activities – involved in tender responses, planning sessions and demonstrations.  Also contributing to sales via identification of ongoing changes and opportunities to on-sell consulting services within existing projects.
  • Customer Satisfaction. Ensure complete customer satisfaction across projects through successful delivery of project outcomes and provision of ongoing support services in a timely high quality manner. Provide local leadership for each customer engagement.  All Customer sites to be referenceable.
  • Team Management/Leadership. Setting of work assignments, and ongoing review/appraisals of consultant’s delivery on assignments.
  • Staff Management. Assist with recruitment of the best staff in line with the growth of the region.  Participate with staff development through understanding of their desired career paths, and aligning these with Objective business outcomes.  Ensure staff are motivated and staff turnover minimized.
  • Global Practice Contributions.  Recognised at one of the leading contributors to the Project Management stream in cooperation with Global Practice  to ensure continuous improvement in the “way we work at Objective” through contribution to ‘Best Practice’ via improvements in our methodology. 

Competencies

  • Project Management. Strong project management skills with a clear understanding of all of the key elements of the Project Management Discipline. Manages, using advanced techniques, medium to large complex projects. Has a practical approach to project implementation for a vendor organisation balancing time, budget and customer expectations. Manages the delivery of projects using prince II project management processes.

Can work proactively with project team members to assist them in their ongoing development; mentoring and providing timely and constructive feedback. Can apply interviewing skills to assist in the recruitment of the project team.
  • Customer Focus. Ability to engage comfortably at Senior Management level. Thoroughly understands the customer’s business environment, practices, and core processes. The ability to coach the customer through the aspects of the project that make it a success, (i.e. change management, customer critical path items, etc).
  • Judgment and Decision Making. Can independently make balanced and timely decisions with incomplete information. Evaluates a number of different options and demonstrates the capacity to anticipate problems. 
  • Communication. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills to set up WIN/WIN outcomes for all involved. Demonstrates an understanding of the implicit (emotional) message as well as the explicit message of any communication.
  • Industry Knowledge. Demonstrable understand of ECM industry, processes and products including EDMS, Records Management, WCM and Workflow. Demonstrable understanding of the key project activities in the ECM domain such as Migration, Integration and Configuration.
  • Knowledge Management. Strong orientation toward process and methodology. Actively pursues improvements in efficiency, services, processes, and product offerings.

Experience


Essential:

  • University Degree Qualified, ideally in Business and/or Technology
  • Programme or Project Management background in computer software implementation in a vendor/consulting environment
  • Detailed understanding of all aspects of large scale enterprise application implementations
  • Proven track record in Programme or Project management of large scale projects $1m to $10m
  • At least 7 years experience of technology implementations into a business
  • Strong business and commercial acumen
  • Excellent project planning and set-up skills
  • Excellent people management skills, demonstrating managing people as direct reports.
  • Strong experience in business development with evidence of converting opportunities to large scale projects.
  • Experience in formal Project Management and Implementation Methodologies and processes.
  • Formal Project Management accreditation eg PRINCE2, PMBOK, etc.
  • A pragmatic, and big-picture person with the ability to also operate at a hands on level and conceptualise solutions.
  • Strong understanding of the sales process and ability to engage at senior management level.


Preferred:

  • Practical experience in successfully managing solution implementation into a business for a vendor/consulting firm over the last 5 years.  During this time it would be expected approximately 5-6 implementation projects would have been framed, planned and completed.
  • Solid permanent employment record demonstrating commitment to both previous employer’s and the candidate’s career.

Position Overview

The Education Consultant assists Objective customers to maximise their investment in the Objective product set through the provision of effective education to their end-user community. This is achieved through the delivery of generic End User product training and the customisation of courseware to reflect specific customer solutions prior to delivery. In addition, the Education Consultant assists with the development of the Objective End User Training Kit and provides education sessions to Objective staff.

Day to Day Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance to internal project teams when required
  • Training Delivery – Delivery of instructor-led training to Objective clients and staff.
  • Education Consultancy Services – Delivery of Education Consultancy services to Customers, including Train-the-Trainer programs and courseware customisation.
  • Training Requirements – Responsible for analysing a Customer’s training requirements and recommending how they can be met through education offerings;
  • Training Material Development – Contribute to the development and maintenance of Objective’s instructor-led Training Materials including course outlines, participant notes, training handouts, exercises and datasets
  • E-Learning Training Development - Contribute to the development and maintenance of Objective’s Computer Based Training products.
  • Global Practice Contribution – Ensure continuous improvement in the "way we work at Objective" through contribution to Global Practice.
  • Customer Satisfaction – Manage their personal relationship with the customer to ensure long-term relationships are enabled.  Execute assigned tasks within the methodology framework, on time and to satisfactory quality.

Expected Commercial Profile

  • Cert IV Workplace Training and Assessment (completed or substantially commenced).
  • At least 2 years experience in delivering computer application training, either with commercial training organisations or application vendors.
  • Experience in the application of CBT products for delivering computer application training;
  • Employment record demonstrating commitment to both previous employers and the candidate’s career;
  • Practical experience in the development of training materials.
  • Demonstrated understanding of business software solutions;
  • Exposure to Electronic Document and Records Management systems;
  • Experience with the use of e-learning development tools; and
  • Technical writing experience.
  • A broad awareness of Internet Technologies

Position Overview

The position of Technical Consultant is to provide technical consulting for Objective solutions and is responsible for all technical aspects of Objective implementations, upgrades and ongoing support. The position covers product installation, configuration, integration, customization, data migration and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Project Delivery.  Responsible for on time, within estimate, delivery of all assigned technical tasks on a project.
  • Product Installation. Responsible for successful installation, testing and certification of the Objective software within the customer environment, according to the specified configuration, across all platforms and databases.
  • Data Migration. Work closely with the project team to determine the required data migration, develop migration scripts, test the migration process, and execute the production migration, ensuring that all data is successfully migrated.
  • Customisation. Where necessary develop and unit test customisations, utilising the Objective SDK where appropriate, according to specification, to assist in ensuring the solution meets the customers overall business requirements.
  • Testing and Support. Work with the project team to test the end to end solution and provide ongoing support during User Acceptance Testing and Go Live.
  • Ad-Hoc Support. Provide onsite consulting services on an ad-hoc basis to assist customers with the ongoing maintenance of their solution. Services will include maintenance, problem resolution, health checks, tuning and customisation.
  • Objective Methodology. Ensure the Objective Methodology is applied to all project work in a consistent and professional manner.
  • Global Practice Contributions.  Ensure continuous improvement in the “way we work at Objective Corporation” through contribution to ‘Best Practice’ via improvements in our methodology. 
  • Contribute to the Communities of Practice and Body of Knowledge, including the Objective library of re-usable software components.
