DPC processes 7,000 pieces of ministerial correspondence each year. Injecting efficiency into this process presented a significant opportunity to improve responsiveness, but required far-reaching innovation.

The DPC digitised its vast collection of paper documents and implemented a full ‘Activity Based’ working environment and electronic workflow to manage the approval of all briefs and correspondence produced by the Department.

Adaptive case management provided the flexibility, transparency and mobility DPC needed for approvals.

This, together with a comprehensive change management program engaged users, including senior executives, with enthusiasm.

All documents approvals including Briefs and ministerial correspondence are now conducted electronically, without circulating paper copies.
