Law of Consultation: Practical Implications for Planners

The morning is spent on understanding the law of consultation, the statutory and non-statutory requirements. It includes a group exercise that gives participants an opportunity to explore their own ideas.  We then explain the processes of the law and how judicial reviews come about before exploring the legal principles through past cases and whether Court judgements were fair. The afternoon focuses on the practical implications. Using case examples we consider eight common scenarios, what we should do and how we avoid challenges.
