Workflow
Streamline business processes, improve productivity and provide essential business knowledge to users. Objective Workflow is a highly functional process management product that works within your ECM framework allowing people to control and extend business processes while eliminating the security risks and logistical costs associated with paperbound, manual processes.
Objective Workflow allows users to visually create workflows to automate their work processes. Users, with the appropriate authority, can define Workflows for electronic documents, physical records and any other object in Objective. These objects are routed through the organisation according to the workflow business rules. Objective Workflow includes electronic signatures, alarms, and ad hoc routing.
Users receive Workflow Tasks via Slips that are viewed and routed along the workflow route. Alarms can be assigned, to ensure that bottlenecks and critical points in business processes can be monitored accurately. Both future progress and history can be viewed easily through Objective Workflow.
In response to customers requiring maximum flexibility in workflow functionality, Objective has introduced “object-centric” workflow, in addition to its traditional process-centric workflow.
Object-Centric Workflow
Object-centric workflow is where the document, object or folder containing content relevant to the workflow, becomes the focus of the workflow, rather than the process itself being the focus. Individual objects or folders can also be the subject of multiple workflows.
This style of workflow is ideally suited to knowledge-based processes such as ministerial responses within government departments, where the complete business process may not be known at the beginning of the process. It is also ideal for development applications within local government organisations, case management workflows for legal matters or project management workflows in a multitude of industries.
People contributing to the workflow have immediate access to any of the content they need to work on the process. Subject to security and privileges, these people also have a degree of control over the direction of the process, such as assigning tasks to different people or roles, starting an associated workflow, initiating adhoc route exceptions or expediting a process in an urgent situation.
