Objective Electronic Document Management (EDM) supports and manages any kind of electronic information object - objects including word processing and spreadsheet files, presentation software, drawing packages, scanned images, workflows, databases, emails, audio, video, CAD applications and more.
Electronic documents can be captured from any source. These documents may be captured manually through the deliberate action of an individual, or they may be captured automatically using Office Integration or ODMA supported applications. Documents can be captured 'as is', or subject to further processing such as imaging and/or optical character recognition (OCR), or the creation of PDF renditions.
Objective EDM manages the entire document lifecycle. Users can create and revise documents, send documents to peers or management for review and once approved can publish documents to the organisation, an intranet or the internet.
All objects are subject to version control, military-strength security and the capture of metadata. This provides a comprehensive audit trail for evidentiary proof of compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Working in conjunction with the Objective Records Management module and Objective Foundation, Objective EDM allows you to create an electronic record to help you track and control other physical assets, such as software or legal evidence.
Working in conjunction with Objective Drawing Management and Objective Foundation, Objective ECM allows you to manage your CAD files in within the same solution as your enterprise content management.
Objective will operate with virtually any version of desktop authoring tools. Objective does not require special versions of office automation tools. As software standards or applications change, you can be assured that Objective will continue to be able to store, index, and retrieve those documents.
