Objective announces a joint development initiative with the University of Wollongong

Leading enterprise content management (ECM) software company, Objective Corporation (ASX: OCL) today announced it has entered into a joint research and development initiative with the University of Wollongong (UOW). As part of this initiative, Professor Peter Eklund will join Objective as Principal Research Scientist.

 

Professor Eklund is the Professor of Information Systems at the UOW and is a former head of that discipline. He has also held professorial roles in several other Australian universities.

For 10 years, Professor Eklund has served as a consultant to the US and Australian Departments of Defence and was a foundation Board member of the Semantic Web Science Foundation. His interests are in the application of computer science research in distributed systems to knowledge management problems. Software design and engineering form a crucial part of his research method.

As part of Objective’s innovation strategy, Professor Eklund’s work will assist Objective with its next generation technology. Peter’s work will focus on integrating new search technologies and developing Objective’s world leading ECM platform for further application in highly distributed organisations .
