Objective selected as a multi-agency solution
by Department of Primary Industry and Resources SA
The Department of Primary Industry and Resources South Australia (PIRSA), a key economic development agency within the South Australian Government, has selected Objective Corporation (ASX:OCL) to provide an electronic document and records management solution to be used across ten business groups by 1648 people.
PIRSA is committed to sustainable and responsible development decisions for the benefit of the South Australian community. Its core business functions include economic and industry development, natural resource management and policy advice and support. It supports industries with total revenue in excess of $7 billion, including an export component valued at over $3.6 billion.
PIRSA’s agencies support 58 corporate and regional offices throughout the state and a highly mobile workforce. The department needed to provide its staff with access to a single point of reference to information, from any location.
PIRSA operates in a highly regulated environment, and as a result has a responsibility to create, capture, preserve and manage over 300 different types of operational documents and records. Objective will replace a number of systems in use across the agencies, providing a single, central repository and a single point of access to this information.
Improving access to information and management of information will improve decision-making to achieve positive economic development, resource utilisation, environmental sustainability and social outcomes. It will also support PIRSA’s compliance with the requirements of the South Australian State Records Act 1997.
Tony Walls, CEO Asia Pacific, Objective Corporation said: “Objective is used in large-scale multi-agency solutions around the world. This experience was critical in PIRSA’s evaluation and subsequent selection of Objective.”
