Objective Corporation Shares Successes with the Scottish Executive at Efficient Government Conference

Objective Corporation, The Scottish Executive and LogicaCMG to present how the public and private sectors are making Efficient Government a reality

Objective Corporation will share the stage with the Scottish Executive and LogicaCMG in a presentation at the Efficient Government in Scotland Conference on the 13 th of October, 2005. The organisations will discuss how they have achieved success in the delivery of an electronic records and document management system and how this partnership approach has delivered efficiency within the Scottish public sector.

The conference is bringing together organisations responsible for delivering successful projects that improve efficiency in Scotland’s public sector as examples of best practice. Building a Better Scotland identified five ‘workstreams’ that required significant efficiency improvements, including shared services, asset management and streamlined bureaucracy, and the conference aims to educate public sector consultants, advisors and service providers on how to effectively deliver efficiency improvements in these areas.

The Scottish Executive selected Objective’s Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solution to improve internal management of information by ensuring records and files are more efficiently captured, stored, shared and released where relevant to the public. The roll-out of the solution by Objective Corporation, in partnership with The Scottish Executive and LogicaCMG is to date delivering to the vision set at the outset of the project and all three organisations will take part in sharing the visions and outcomes in the presentation.

Key to the success of the project is the improvement of core efficiencies in delivering effective government but also key is ensuring that the project was designed to make life better and communication with public sector bodies easier for citizens. We have all heard of public sector project failures, but we need to examine the successes just as closely to recognise how public and private sector organisations can work together and achieve the desired results.
