2001 Press ReleasesDate: 22nd November 2001 Objective Corporation teams with Unisys to broaden
e-business offerings
Australian knowledge and process management software developer, Objective
Corporation (ASX:OCL) has formalised an alliance with Unisys Australia
that will see the two companies combine their respective resources and
areas of expertise to offer broader solutions to the Australian and New
Zealand markets. Under the terms of the agreement, Objective's specialised knowledge and
process management software and expertise will form a strategic component
of the Unisys e-business solutions portfolio. Unisys will bring its systems
integration and vertical market expertise and presence to the alliance. Unisys sees application for Objective's solutions, in both the public
and commercial sectors in Australia and New Zealand, where managing large
volumes of electronic information, paper-based records and the surrounding
business processes are essential to operational effectiveness. "As governments and commercial enterprises continue to embrace online
strategies, it is extremely important for them to review their information
management practices, to improve productivity and accountability and to
provide more accessible services for customers, employees and citizens,"
said Tony Walls, CEO Asia Pacific, Objective Corporation. "The combination
of Objective's knowledge and process management solutions with Unisys
e-business solutions means governments and commercial enterprises can
now make the transition into the online world more efficiently and securely." Allen Koehn, General Manager Public Sector, Unisys South Pacific, commented:
"The alliance is already working for both companies, in that we have proposals
before organisations in both Australia and New Zealand. And our expectation
and hope for the alliance is that it will expand the knowledge management
solutions available to government in particular." Unisys and Objective have already worked together successfully in Australia,
to supply the Corporate Records Management Objective Plus 2000 Software
and associated services for a pilot project with the Queensland Police
Service. Unisys is the prime contractor for the delivery of this project,
which will see the system customised to meet legislative responsibilities.
This will enable a corporate view of records and the development of appropriate
business rules to take advantage of the Objective software. The two companies
are currently working together on contract bids on both sides of the Tasman. -ends- About Objective Corporation
