2001 Press ReleasesDate: 15th March 2001 UK Success for Objective Corporation
Sydney, AUSTRALIA --- Objective Corporation (ASX:OCL), Australia's leading
developer of knowledge management software, today reported new success
in its overseas expansion. The company announced that the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment
(DETI) in Northern Ireland has chosen the Objective software suite for
its Trading Standards Services (TSS) division. TSS provides services to
businesses and the public regarding trading standards (weights, measures
etc.) within Northern Ireland and is responsible for enforcing legislation
covering trading standards. The system will be implemented at DETI's Belfast headquarters and a regional
office at Ballymena. Initially, DETI employees will use Objective's technology to test the
department's electronic and physical record keeping procedures and workflow
will also be examined while the organisation assesses its future knowledge
management requirements. DETI has a potential installation base of 1500 DETI employees throughout
Northern Ireland for workflow and record keeping applications. Mr Tony Walls, Joint CEO of Objective Corporation, said this latest UK
contract win confirmed that the company can compete successfully against
global industry leaders in the international marketplace. "This is the second UK government contract we have secured within
a few months of establishing operations in the UK," said Mr Tony
Walls, Joint CEO, Objective Corporation. "We're confident that our business will grow rapidly in the UK as
the Blair government strives to meet its commitment to move all its services
and record keeping online by 2005." In November 2000, Objective Corporation announced a major contract with
the Local Enterprise Development Unit (LEDU), the British Government's
small business development agency for Northern Ireland. Objective Corporation has already established itself as the leading supplier
of knowledge management solutions to Australian state and federal government.
It participated in a trade delegation to the UK in February, presenting
its Australian government solutions to senior UK officials and systems
integrators. Over the past 12 months the company has secured contracts valued at more
than $15 million with Australian federal government clients including
the Federal Attorney General's Department, IP Australia, ATSIC, the Department
of Transport and Regional Services and the Australian Centre for International
Agricultural Research. Objective Corporation is also working with the Australian Defence Organisation
where its Objective knowledge management solutions are being implemented
for up to 50,000 users.
