The World Is Local: Local Government. No Boundaries

Local Government Managers Australia (LGMA) is Australia's leading Local Government representative for management professionals in the local government sector.

The LGMA National Congress & Business Expo, held annually for over 30 years, has long been regarded as Australia's premium national Local Government conference and expo, and is attended by over 500 delegates from the local government sector, Australia wide.

The program for the 2008 Congress is has been developed on themes that have no boundaries: Sustainable Environment, Community Wellbeing and Executive Development.

The National Congress is structured on a series of keynote presentations and concurrent sessions addressing the topics of Sustainable Environment, Community Wellbeing and Executive Development.

A series of international presenters together with national local government practitioners will present on these topics and the program will be complemented by a series of panel sessions which will present delegates the opportunity for interaction with panel presenters.

Dr Tim Flannery, Rev Tim Costello and Marcus Akuhata-Brown will present keynote addresses on the Congress theme.

Several workshops, a Gold Coast study tour and a series of Partner's Programs and social events will round out this event, which provides something for everybody.
