Objective 7 gains UK National Archives Approval

Objective Corporation, a leading global provider of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solutions, has announced that Objective 7 has been approved by The National Archives as meeting the requirements set out for Electronic Records Management (ERM) systems used by UK government.

The UK’s public sector looks to The National Archives (TNA) when considering implementing an ERM solution to ensure that information held by the organisation is managed by the most effective solutions and in the most efficient and appropriate ways. TNA provides an effective safeguard for public sector organisations needing to invest in ERM or more typically ECM, but are unsure of where to begin.

Gary Fisher , CEO Europe, Objective Corporation said: “Whilst Objective is already recognised as a superior solution within the public sector, the TNA approval is regarded at the most stringent test any ERM product has to face and we are delighted to receive approval against the TNA’s demanding requirements.

“Objective is a very broad and flexible ECM solution capable of meeting an organisation’s diverse needs for knowledge retention and management. This approval is testament that Objective also provides the depth of functionality to meet the most stringent requirements of particular marketplaces, all within a single user interface and technical architecture.

“We look forward to continuing to grow our public sector market success here in the UK,” said Mr Fisher.

The National Archives, better known for holding historical and political documents of importance to the nation, also tests ERM solutions against more than 400 functional requirements laid out in their requirements. Public Sector organisations have to fulfil strict legislation with regard to their management of records and documents and must contend with issues not often faced by the private sector. One of these is the vast number of records they must hold, often many more than in all but the largest private sector firms.

Objective 7 is a complete ECM solution that connects an organisations content with the people who need it, when they need it. It enables users to leverage content – records, documents and files - as a valuable and strategic asset, offering a central point of access, management, security and control. It enables public sector bodies to leverage a unified content repository to meet the diverse content needs of the large community of people that need to interact with it.
