New Zealand's largest government department selects Objective for document and records management solution

Objective Corporation Limited (ASX:OCL) today announced it had been awarded a contract to supply an electronic document and records management (EDRM) solution to one of New Zealand's largest government departments, the Ministry of Social Development (MSD), Te Manatu Whakahiato Ora.

Employing around 5500 people, the MSD provides strategic social policy advice to the New Zealand government and social services to more than 1 million New Zealanders.

The MSD sought an EDRM solution to meet its statutory requirements, its best practice.htmlirations for information management, and a solution to leverage its records, information and knowledge to provide improved social outcomes for New Zealanders.

The solution will be deployed across 8 business units in the Wellington National Office and will be used by 850 staff to support both the MSD's policy development activities, its research projects, the process of responding to parliamentary questions and its administrative functions such as Human Resources, Finance and Information Technology. The EDRM solution will provide the ability to manage information flows electronically within the Ministry's business processes as well as offer a secure repository for National Office information and records.

The solution will also assist the Ministry to comply with its statutory recordkeeping obligations including the: Archives Act 1957, Copyright Act 1994, Public Finance Act 1989, Tax Administration Act 1994, Privacy Act 1993, Official Information Act 1982, Employment Contracts Act 1991 and the proposed Public Records Bill.
